Simon is a well-respected Senior Healthcare Leader with broad-based expertise in the healthcare industry for the past 30 years. He brings extensive health leadership and management experience of large complex organisations with particular expertise in developing and delivering integrated models of care across the whole of health system.

He is known as an implementer and for working through complex commissioning issues and problem solving to achieve improved population outcomes. He is a positive and engaging leader with effective people skills, an open communication style and is known for his ability to build effective and lasting relationships.

He has fulfilled a range of roles including 10 years as a practicing Occupational Therapist (NZ and in the United States), four years working for central government at the Ministry of Health, General Management and Director roles in District Health Boards and an extended period as the Interim Chief Executive of the Bay of Plenty DHB.
